Number the Stars by Lois Lowry

I’m so glad that I read this book. It was absolutely amazing for such a short book.
It came onto my radar because I needed a Newberry Award Winning book for a 2023 reading challenge that I have been working on. This book won in 1990. While technically a children’s book, it did not feel like a children’s book.
It is a holocaust story set in Denmark from the point of view of a child. It was such a good story. I’ve read many holocaust books but I think this was the first I’ve read that was set in Denmark. The Danes were such brave, kind people. I was really impressed learning about some of the things they did to protect their Jewish population. If you have not read it, I highly recommend it.
