Ah, blackmail and forced marriages are sure to provide a good time in dark romance, and this book did not disappoint! Stella and Murphy started with intense passion and chemistry, and it continued to blaze into a raging inferno as their story progressed. I believe that this is marketed as a standalone, but in my opinion, the reader might feel confused about a few events that happen in the Four Families trilogy that are referenced in this book if they haven’t already read them. If you’ve read the trilogy, don’t sit on this book for too long - it’s my new favorite novel from Brynn Ford!
This book is very dark. Please check trigger warnings before diving in. Human trafficking is a central focus of the plot in this story (and in the trilogy that precedes it).
