Company Town by Madeline Ashby

This is an instance where I read this book at the right time, so it got a higher rating. The main characters were well fleshed out and I really liked them. The side characters (so, basically a bunch of prostitutes) all just kinda meshed together and when one of them was murdered I was like, who even was that? The sci-fi parts of the novel were really good and I loved the world building. But when the book constantly points out how the main character is unaugmented in anyway and basically everyone else was, it felt very unbelievable that she would be able to surprise and beat up as many men as she did. I get that she was a trained fighter and Yada Yada, but still she was unaugmented in an augmented world, probably would have gotten her ass handed to her by more than falls and a bullet wound.

TL,DR: Good book for getting out of a reading slump, and great world building, forgettable angsty Mary Sue main character.
