There's definitely some issues that might bother one in this book; like the constant throwing around of words like 'ho' and 'slut'. This book is written from a typical teenage mindset: everyone is being judged.
If you can get past that this book is a nice read when you want to forget about the real world and just focus on teenage vampire drama. (It's absolutely much better than Twilight).
I also liked Zoey's yearn to do good even when that means letting go of her anger in certain situations.. and yes she's got a lot to learn and yes her character is quite a Mary Sue, nonetheless it is an inspiring mindset to have you should bring into your real life.
