I found this under “paranormal romance”. There are romance elements but I’d say this is more of a screwball paranormal novel with some tense plot moments. The writing was to-the-point and there are a lot of bizarre and funny scenes. Edie made some terrible decisions so it could be hard to relate to her, however she felt like your gal pal who’s a hot mess at all times but who you love anyways. Anna and her character development were lovely. Grandfather was my fave. Jake I could’ve done without, he felt like a “the plot requires me to exist” character. I liked the world building and wish we got more of it. I didn’t really understand how all this paranormal activity could be going on, yet the majority of the world had no idea vampires/shapeshifters/werewolves/etc existed.
I did not know this was a series before I started it, so the ending (being somewhat unresolved) was annoying. Fuck Asher and you know what, fuck Ti too. I was rooting so hard for him and then he up and left like a coward.

Moderate: Child abuse
Pretty early on we’re introduced to a driving plot point: a vampire-run child porn ring. Nothing is graphic however it is important to the plot.
