This is a propulsive and readable thriller. I could not put it down. Nina and Simon are a golden couple, 20 years old, high school sweethearts, vacationing in Simon’s wealthy parents’ vacation home in Vermont on a break from college. Only Simon comes home from the trip on which he says he and Nina broke up but his story doesn’t add up. This is a unique set up because about half way through the book the reader knows what happens and the book follows the story as it unfolds from the point of view of the four parents and the detective. It’s a story about class and privilege, what money can buy when one is accused, and what lengths parents will go to when trying to protect their children
