What an exceptional end to the Chestnut Springs series. And with possibly (definitely) my favorite couple yet. There were aspects of their relationship that were completely on point with mine and my husband's and it was hugely impactful to me. I can't count how many nights I spent rubbing lotion on scars, so each of those scenes had my eyes glazing over. My favorite aspect of Elsie Silver's writing is that in each of the romances there is something that is so benign and yet so singularly meaningful, that you can deeply relate to. There are tiny descriptors that immediately draw you into the scene and see these characters as people outside of these stories - hands on the top of the door frame, fist to the mouth to cover smirks, etc. It immediately takes you from reading a story to watching the scene.
I will now immediately go back and finish the Gold Rush Ranch series, and hopefully that will line me up with the April 2024 release of Wild Love.
