Bring the Heat by G.A. Aiken
5.0
Series: Dragon Kin #9
Rating: 5 stars - I loved it!
It’s been seven years since the war against the Chramnesind zealots started. Key players are missing and it's time to make one last stand or die. Branwen the Awful is tasked with going with Keita the Viper to locate her missing friend. While all the army amasses to take a last stand against the zealots.
I have liked Branwen the Awful since she was introduced. She is always kicking ass and keeping everyone in line. Unless she is with Izzy then she turns into a giggling teenager who keeps getting in trouble. I would follow her without question because she really cares for her troops and will fight with them. Aiden the Divine is really the best person for her. She needs someone who can smooth talk and calm down a group, like her father Bram. Branwen was just a great warrior and a great leader.
Aiden is a deadly Mì-runach warrior but also a smooth talking dragon. He keeps his fellow warriors in line as best as he can. I love how these two started as friends and slowly fell in love. Aiden was just great! Him and Branwen had wonderful chemistry and worked great together in battle too. Also I enjoyed Brannie being the one who freaked out when it came to their feelings instead of Aiden. It was a nice change to see it be the female, not the male doing that.
The war against the zealots was a long and bloody battle filled with dragons, demons, tentacles, and flesh eating animals. This was an action packed and tense book because so much could go wrong. Also I really enjoyed how Annwyl keeps winning over new allies. It's always interesting and very bloody. The ending of this book made it seem like there could be more books in the future, especially with Brigida the Most Foul still being around. I hope we do get more books because I adore this series and all the characters in it, except for Kita. Still not a fan of hers.
