Well, I'll admit I almost abandoned this book immediately. I have a VERY hard time with this trope, for absolutely every reason, and it usually makes me completely ditch the book and move on. I decided to give it a shot after friends recommendations, and because I have previously enjoyed Mazey's writing. 

While I struggled with the entire story because of the trope, I also struggled with the MC. Maybe it was because I was already annoyed but it felt like everything she did bothered me. In saying all of this, I still clearly enjoyed it because I rated it 4 stars. The relationship between our MC's was beautiful and natural feeling and I loved the development and growth Lizzie had with her family. It wasn't super memorable, but it was definitely enjoyable.
