The Secret History by Donna Tartt

I feel sick

I love thrillers. This one was thrilling. Saw some reviews saying this is boring because the most exciting part happens in the middle. I am underread in this genre (a fact) but is this not unusual because The Talented Mr. Ripley has like the exact same structure. I wasn't really expecting anything different.

I would love to romanticize this book however I genuinely feel no emotional connection to any of the characters after finishing it. I did quite like Charles until that whole

thing came out of the blue, like what the fuck was that about. I don't know how well the themes were executed because genuinely I read this for entertainment, and I read it more like a genre book than a literary book. I mean, it's a thriller. It's a good thriller. The characters were so pretentious it was funny.

I liked the funeral. The funeral was good.
