I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy

5.0

I initially avoided this book because after losing my mom in 2019 to ALS I couldn't imagine how anyone would be glad that their mom died! But I finally gave it and I'm so glad that I did. My heart broke for Jennette McCurdy and the pain she has gone through. So many times we want our kids to do the things that we didn't get to do growing up, but it really seems like her mom took it to the extreme. I also can't imagine the eating disorders, alcoholism and sex that Jennette encountered.

She deserves every ounce of success that comes from this book for herself and I hope that she is able to find peace with her past and happiness in her future.
