Sweethearts by I.S. Belle
5.0
This book had me on the edge of my seat from page one! Sweethearts is the final book in the Babylove trilogy of sapphic novellas, a companion series to Zombabe. I still haven’t read Zombabe, so I know there are some backstory parts I don’t know fully about, but that did not in any way detract from my enjoyment of this series.
Belle wasted no time with this one and jumped right into the action! It doesn’t take long at all for the strange things to start happening as they always do in Bulldeen. While the first two books were more about Zombie’s and resurrection, Sweethearts took a slightly different turn - possession! And that possession is brought on by a whole lot of revenge and a creepy town’s desperation to stay alive by any means necessary. It was a perfect way to conclude the series! Even though I really wish it wasn’t over!
And mixed in with all the dark and violent aspects of this story is the sweetest, most adorable sapphic love story. I have been rooting for Frankie and Ivy since book one. The goth and the cheerleader. Two seemingly opposite girls who become the best versions of themselves together. I absolutely love their relationship and how deeply they care for each other. They’ve been together since book one and have dealt with so many f*cked up things together. But they stick by each other, protect each other, fight for each other, and love each other through it all. No matter what. The two of them are more than just young love. They are goals.
