This was really fun.
The main plot is interesting enough but the bulk of the book is devoted to some really great character writing. That combined with some genuinely funny scenes like an extended excursion to The Bar With No Name, make this a worthwhile read.
The stakes are a bit more real seeming in this book and since the main game starts in Media Rez it is perfect for a prequel novel.
