Another of my favorite essay collections, this book provided glimpses into the mind of an author that would only loom larger in my mind as I developed my own writing. "Invisible City," "Matricide," and "The Joni Mitchell Problem" are three essays that I haven't been able to shake in the two years since I first read them. I love this book so much.
