Every once in a while, I finish a book out of spite. This was one of those books. It took me three weeks to trudge through this mess.
I don't know what makes Jonathan Franzen think he's too good for chapters, but this book was a struggle to get through. And that's a shame because the ideas behind it really piqued my interest. My other grievance (besides the lack of chapters) was Franzen using "autistic" as an insult. That's just irresponsible writing.
