The Song of David by Amy Harmon
5.0
"You don't have to beat it, David. You don't have to beat it. You just have to let us fight with you."
I had to close my eyes and just breathe after reading this book. All the pain, heartbreak and love I felt was overwhelming. David is such a remarkable character. He is so selfless and strong. Amelie is such a lovable character. It's not every day that you read a book that has a blind girl as the main character and I love how she was portrayed. She is strong and independent despite her blindness. I love strong female characters that doesn't need saving. Henry is also a remarkable. He has his own disability but he is full of heart.
I also love that we got to know Moses more in this book and how he has grown as a person. Tag and Mo are inseperable and I adore their friendship so much. Moses is not the warmest person but in this book, he has shown more of his heart. I love his scenes with Tag and I just cried like a baby when they exchanged Iloveyou's. Like, damn, Moses. I knew you had it in you.
I couldn't put into words how amazing this book is. How it made me bawl my eyes out and made me smile at the same time. It was crazy. It was a sob fest. The story is so inspiring especially for people who have lost their faith to fight. Miracles happen everyday and sometimes, we just have to believe in it and hope.
David have proven that he is the best fighter in the universe. And he did. He fought. And it was all or nothing. It was all.
It was a pleasure reading both Moses and David's journey to love and pain. Both are amazing people, also Georgia and Amelie who have been their strength all throughout. Over all, the books deserve 5 stars.
Thank you for this book, Amy. All the tears are worth it.
