Neuromancer by William Gibson
5.0
Dense, gritty, cool. This damn work of art is a caper with zero exposition and a masterpiece of speculative fiction that explores such a variety of things as to baffle, dispelling casual readers. The style was on point in that trying to keep up with Gibson's stark and surprisingly near-accurate account of the future of technology and corporate domination proved both a challenge and a delight. Fascinating and baffling characters that you can feel, and strong imagery... I'm just raving. "Here is a classic tale of a drug-addled anti-hero hacker trying to get his life back without losing it while dancing with a myriad of strange and violent characters" seems to me the best way to summarize this beast. Enjoyable, above all.
