I enjoyed this story. I love how Victorian Era novels are constantly referencing novels of the time, but rather than a ghost story, this was more a love story and life story with a hint towards the supernatural.

I am very disappointed in this collection of classic ghost stories which are pointedly absent of ghosts. There is a lot of atmosphere and setting, high emotions; passion, love, and grief. Many things that are enjoyable but are not ghosts...
