Feathers So Vicious by Liv Zander
5.0
I am absolutely blown away (again!) by this author!
'Feathers so Vicious' is a dark fantasy that will in the end have a HEA, but the road there is harrowing and brutal! This MFM is introducing a new type of shifter to me: Ravens.
And not just one Raven per person, oh no, the author went all the way and we have an Unkindness of ravens per person! It was a new take on shifting that was a thrill to read about. The magic of these people is well-written and thought out, their old language and their names for their magic and beings was a breath of fresh air that this type of genre needed.
I could not put this book down! I read The Pale Court before this, so the author was already on my radar with that fantastic duet and here she comes again with this awesome book!
I cried and there were a lot of triggers. We are in a medieval fantasy setting with humans vs. ravens and war, hate, heartbreak and abuse, so things get quite dark!
But this is also a love story, it just takes a bit to get there. ;)
The villains are also the heroes, I love me some good old Alphaholes!
I can not wait for the next book!! This one ends on a cliffhanger, but the little extra piece went a long way to give me better closure while I wait!
This is well written, I was never bored or felt things were dragging on. The chamber events are very spicey which is a must. ;)
All in all, this is a 5-star read for me, and I would definitely re-read it. When the 2nd book comes out I imagine it will be just like the first duet she did, and find itself re-read often.
