Wolf's Bane by Auryn Hadley

5.0

This is a very feel-good, slow-moving, long story that you can just sink into and live in. I love that the women are so supportive of each other... not something you see in a lot of RH, to be honest. It was fun watching Elena slowly come to the realization that she's living in a community for wolves.

Some reviewers don't like the slow way they fall in love, but it felt realistic to me. Not everything is instalove. Yeah, the one guy is her fated mate, but that doesn't make the others magically fall for her. And with Elena being in her 40s, it all just felt more realistic.

I had a feeling that
Spoilerit would be her daughter being bitten and turned into a wolf that would finally clue her in at last, and it was! But in a way, that was nice, because it cut to the chase. No denying it and running away... Elena had to face it head-on because now her daughter is one of them.

Overall really enjoyed this introduction into the world of Wolf's Run. I loved [a:Auryn Hadley|14248273|Auryn Hadley|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1501020952p2/14248273.jpg]'s [b:Power of Lies|43300868|Power of Lies (The Dark Orchid, #1)|Auryn Hadley|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1545353963l/43300868._SX50_.jpg|67193323] and [b:The Rise of the Iliri: Books 1-3|55777041|The Rise of the Iliri Books 1-3 (Rise of the Iliri, #1-3)|Auryn Hadley|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1603496105l/55777041._SY75_.jpg|56451059] series, but this is SUCH a departure from those, it almost feels like a different author. So give this a shot whether you're new to her work or not! It's fresh and different.
