I couldn't wait to read it after hearing so many good reviews. I read several books on repressions and WWII in Russia. I absolutely loved V. Grossman book 'Life and Fate', and I was missing similar depth in Guzel's characters. There were 2 passages tho which I found so realistic: I was there with them and truly believed what was happening. Overall I liked it and now I am looking forward to watching the series.
