The Savior's Book Café Story in Another World (Manga) Vol. 1 by Reiko Sakurada, Oumiya, Kyouka Izumi
4.0
I've recently developed a love for cosy fantasy manga, and this book fits right into the subgenre. It's sweet and wholesome and I loved it.
Tsukina is a sensible, 30-something book lover who gets sent to another world by a god to be a saviour. Unlike most such saviours she has no desire to be a hero or celebrity and she uses the magic the god grants her to open up a book café, where she meets a book loving knight. Only she is there to be a saviour and clearly as the series progresses that will happen.
The start of the book is the ultimate book lover's wish fulfilment sequence, with Tsukina magically creating her perfect café. The romance (I assume that is how it will end up) is very cute to read, and a storyline about another saviour nicely sets up future events.
Just a lovely, cosy way to spend an hour or two reading.
