4.9 Loved this book and found it so helpful and validating. I especially was moved by the chapter about greed and wealth as virtue and her very clear stance that love cannot coexist with domination. And I like her definition of love and application to US culture. I see this book as the work of a woman in progress, sharing her philosophy of love gained through experience and applied to relationships/and society. It’s an invitation to encounter love and think deeply about what it means to you. I see so much more criticism recently for Bell Hooks, and I don’t think Bell Hooks is trying to be “right” or say she is flawless, she is simply sharing her  view and you can choose to take in what you want. As a spiritual/religious person, I loved the way that Bell Hooks has incorporated her own faith into this book. I enjoyed and will be reading again.
