The Sleeper and the Spindle by Neil Gaiman

3.0

This was an excellent re-telling and "mashup" of Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. It was simplistic and could easily be taught or read aloud to Elementary school students. That said, I would have liked it to be a bit deeper given that it was marked as Young Adult. You know like make the magic darker, explain what was up with the spiders, have there actually be some stakes. It is a short and sweet fairytale, but knowing how gifted Neil Gaiman is, I expected a bit more.
