Yes, there are familiar YA tropes, but it’s all really well done. Really enjoyed this, even losing sleep to listen more. (Audiobook is great... two narrators.) Reminded me why I love YA! If you liked Children of Blood and Bone and/or the Ember in the Ashes series, you’ll love this! I’m excited for the sequel (it’s a planned duology).
