Lore & Lust has an absolutely stunning cover which is what originally drew me in!
Haruka and Nino are very sweet, and the story felt original and unlike most vampire books I've read which was really cool. Unfortunately, I never fully connected with this book, and found myself a little bored at times.
Nino and Haruka's friendship and slowburn relationship was lovely, and I really liked them. I just kept wanting something more though, even I couldn't quite put my finger on what exactly.
It took quite a bit of time for me to get into Lore & Lust. While the author obviously put a lot of effort into creating this world, I thought some of the vampire lore and rituals were fairly confusing and not always the most interesting.
It was strange to have old-fashioned formal language and old archaic rituals alongside smartphones, laptops and some characters' very current speech.
I get that this was likely at least somewhat intentional but it didn't work for me.
Overall, an interesting and mostly enjoyable read with an absolutely stunning cover, but I don't think I'll be continuing the series.
