The Martian by Andy Weir

5.0

I read the account of Apollo 13 as a teenager (several times in fact). This blows even it out of the water.

Mixing actual science with drama, Mark tools out over 600 Earth/mission days on Mars. By growing potatoes and destroying several billion dollar equipment. They say the movie is good, but we always know books are better.

I loved the personality Mark was given, the wise cracks and gallows humor made me laugh outright several times.

My favorite:
“I’ve concluded the following:
1. I’ve been in a dust storm for several sols
2. Shit “

I’ve not seen the movie but maybe Matt Damon did it justice.
