I haven't seen this one much around on Bookstagram but when I saw a glowing review for it, I couldn't resist picking it up! And what a wild ride it is!
DI Anjelica Henley is trying to find the killer responsible for leaving body parts on the banks of the River Thames. With eerie similarities to previous crimes, Anjelica questions Peter Olivier, aka The Jigsaw Killer, who is currently imprisoned on a life sentence. The investigation hits close to home when a severed head is delivered to Anjelica's doorstep, making her realize that the victims have not been randomly chosen and thus requires her to confront her own demons.
THE JIGSAW MAN captivated me from the first few pages. This is a graphic and gritty read so keep that in mind if you choose to pick up this novel! The plot is intriguing, fast-paced, and loaded with twists.
I loved Anjelica as the main character, she is strong, smart, and determined. She also demonstrates a certain vulnerability making you want to know more about her past experiences. I really liked the dynamic and chemistry between her and Ramouter and am intrigued as to how this will progress in the next book. I enjoyed the other central characters as well; they are dynamic and well-rounded. I can't wait to see what the next book will bring for Anjelica and the rest of the central characters!
The ending to THE JIGSAW MAN had me reading with bated breath. It absolutely ends on a cliffhanger and I was truly shaken by it, making me want to dive into the next book ASAP!
