Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

5.0

Let me start by saying that I found my new most favourite book and there are so many reasons why is that so!

It's not only that Leigh Bardugo's writing is amazing (OMG! Her vocabulary! And sentence formations! And descriptions! And quotes! Might be the best I've ever seen) and the Grishaverse is
something truly marvellous.

I say that every good book has to have some good main characters. And here we are with 6 awesome main ones and couple of side ones and all of them seem like real people. Their back stories are really well-made and their characteristics remain unbroken and their inside struggles (those doubts we all have) still keep appearing. I can't say that it was hard for me to pick my favourite character (Ehm, ehm... Kaz) or my second favourite character (Inej), but the book made me love them all nearly equally.

The second most important thing to a book is the idea and here I have nearly nothing to say. I dare everyone to make a better idea for a book than 6 misfits on an impossible (according to Kaz only improbable) heist by which they are saving the world meanwhile trying not to kill each other.

Moving on to the next point: the plot. It is really hard to say anything with all these spoilers in my head, but I promise I will keep this review clean. Let's just say the book sucked me in and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. It was so entertaining all the time. By that I mean that after finishing the 2nd chapter (out of 47 or so, can't remember exactly) I knew this would become my new all time fave. The first chapter was telling me: This will be a really nice book. I know you have no idea what the hell is going on, but when you finally realise everything it will destroy you and you will love it! And that's exactly what happened. Also by the last 100 pages of the book I thought that I reached the most dramatic moment of the book. After 30 pages I was shown that I was terribly mistaken and after next 30 pages I was wrong again!!! For the ending I have to say that I'm not entirely sure if I love or hate the author for ending the book with a freaking cliff-hanger!!!

And what would a YA book be without a lot of love-life drama. I'm only a bit worried that all the 6 characters get paired up with each other. Like I have nothing against it, I ship it all, just name it, but is sounds kinda weird. And my favourite ship is pretty much like everybody else's. It's that one which made the cliff-hanger so much more painful!!!
