Nothing to Envy: Real Lives in North Korea by Barbara Demick

5.0

Not the sort of book I would normally pick up but this was absolutely fascinating and written in an easy to read style as so many books with such an important subject can overly intellectualise making the text dense and unfriendly. North Korea is seen through the eyes of several different people from varying backgrounds and points of view and the country comes alive and you gain an insight into such a secret society and it gives you an impathy for the North Korean people beyond the stock photos you often see. Highly recommended.
