Okay so I don't know if it's binge fatigue or the fact that this is very much a transitional installment in the series but I wasn't quite as enthusiastic during the read as I was for the first two. This installment felt different than the first and I would guess that it's because Corwin has triumphed in some aspects but then a whole new mess of drama is coming down now. So the story has no real big bad enemy feeling that the first two had with Eric being so prominent. I mean the whole family is still a bunch of treacherous d bags and there's all that infighting but the overall arc seems to be shifting away from the politics of the throne and more into the world as we know it is ending. There was less of that cliffhanger feel at the end of this which was nice and I'm still invested enough to continue on with the series.
