This book might not be for everyone, be sure to check trigger and content warning before reading.
This might need to be a part of your life if you enjoy books with possessive MMCs, slow burn where he falls first, true enemies to lovers, touch her and die trope and some twists you don’t see coming.
“Until this moment, I didn’t know you could crave something you’ve never wanted.”
“I am the bad guy, Callie.” He pulled away from my lips just enough to lay his whisper upon them, never opening his eyes. “Which is why you will never, ever be free from me again.”
“There wasn’t a person I wouldn’t kill or a world I wouldn’t destroy to get to her.”
Funny Story on this one, I’m the kind of reader who swaps between paperback and kindle depending on mood and it turns out I am the proud owner of an older physical print of this book. So imagine my surprise when I tried to switch to kindle only to find out they were different versions!!
That aside, if you’ve been sticking around for a bit, you know I’m a villain fan so let’s just say this book had all the right elements. A real enemies to lovers with a villain who was in fact a villain, slow burn romance, AND some very swoon worthy touch her and die moments.
While a little slow on the get go, I loved the dark feel of the atmosphere and the descriptions of the Fae world. I did wish there was a little more on the relationship side but I’m willing to wait until book 2 (which I’m starting ASAP)
