Very interesting “what if” sort of story. The idea of everyone being able to look inside boxes to know their lifespans is very interesting concept. It’s really broken down into every single little minute detail of how that would affect daily life in society, politically, interpersonally and even emotionally. The only thing that left me wanting was, because of the amount of characters and situations there are to be explored, it was very difficult for me to emotionally connect with any one character. Also, a lot of the important most heartbreaking moments were glossed over or summarized after the fact. I wish we could have felt what it’s like to be in their shoes more. Otherwise, a really good read.
