Some books are just that good???

A Dowry of Blood is another one for the favorites list! I was pretty excited to pick this one up as it put Dracula's brides in the spotlight and added a few twists along the way. It was a fantastic queer reimagining and S.T. Gibson's writing style was perfect for it.

I really really loved how this story was told through Constanta's perspective as she wrote down the memories of her life with him. There was obviously so much pain attached to them and what they all went through in the centuries they lived together. I was engrossed by it all and always found myself reaching for the book so I could read another snippet of it whenever I had some free time.

As characters, Constanta and Magdalena and Alexi were so distinct from each other. Each of their introductions had a different flavor to it and reading about their interactions with each other and how they were all tied together by him was an incredible experience. This was very much a story about love and its many forms, good and bad, and how it can change and transform through time.

The ending was very much my favorite part, though, due to what happened and how cathartic that was for me lol This was honestly an amazing read and I'm very happy to have experienced it.
