Here's a YA premise that didn't totally fumble the character relationships. What happens when everyone in the near future lose their ability to dream except the indigenous people of North America? Nothing good for the native population: they are hunted for the marrow in their bones, which holds the only known cure. This story turns on a beautiful and heartbreaking idea that I didn't at all see coming. I loved this. And then I docked it a half star because of its closing scene. Probably unfair, but I am who I am.
