Silas & Quincey: They Didn't Have a Genuine Connection
Silas is a vampire crime lord who is in need of a nurse to assist his terminally ill friend. He sets his sights on Quincey, a former nurse who wants nothing more to do with nursing. However, Quincey owes a debt and will be physically harmed if she doesn't repay the debt. Silas buys the debt, hence buying Quincey. She remains his captive until she is released, after his terminally ill friend passes.
The blurb on this book is VERY deceptive. This book was recommended by Good Reads based on the book Little Mate by Elena Reyes. I seriously thought the I would be getting more of the same. Instead, of strong characters, I was met with very weak ones. Silas wasn't the bad ass I thought he was. Quincey was likeable but something about her just didn't endear her to me. I don't think a connection between these two was developed well. It was literally them hating each other one minute and madly in love the next.
This is the first time that I have been misled about a book blurb and I am NOT happy! This book may be for somebody, but it just wasn't for me.
Happy reading!
