They Will Drown in Their Mothers' Tears by Johannes Anyuru

dark mysterious reflective sad slow-paced

1.5

This is an instance of powering through something that just isn't subject matter I really care to read about. Understandably, the book is overall sad in tone, but it's so miserable and dour that I was massively bored through the whole thing. I probably shouldn't have finished reading this one, but since it was short I...did it.

The two perspectives were indistinct, so that unless someone's name popped up, you never knew when the POV changed until you read into each section. So you always had to reorient yourself each time.

Again, nothing quite wrong with the book, but I should dnf something like this next time...
