This story took a crazy turn. The investigation brought up many secrets of Belle Vie. At the start, every worker is accounted for except one, Donovan.
The characters were amazing, funny and made the story more enjoyable. My favorite character was Pearl. She was Lorraine’s help in the kitchen. Pearl knew when to speak and when to keep quiet. Something some of the other characters could have learned from. But that Morgan… OMG. The child knew a lot as well.
This story was more than just history. It navigated present day struggles on labor and loyalty. Though, the author did an amazing job. I was engaged the entire time. I felt like I was walking the grounds of Belle Vie while reading.
Honestly, I didn’t expect this story to pan out as it did. You really won’t know the killer until the end - I was wrong the entire time. 🫣 And the ending left me wondering about the ownership that was at question.
