I really enjoyed it but there were some parts of the story (no spoilers) that meant this book wasn’t a five star for
me and it’s a shame because I really wanted to enjoy it after purchasing this book directly from the author.
To start with I couldn’t get into it but once the hostage situation started and the drama began I couldn’t put it down! Granted some of the pages are just to give you background on the special forces but it was very exciting, and thrilling, to follow Harry as he manoeuvres his way through the hotel, avoiding terrorists and protecting the girl he loves.
Harry is a typical teenage boy and some of the language he uses to describe women could be a little derogatory but that soon vanished when he meets Kelsi and realises she’s the one for him. It’s like he matures a little. It was nice to see the character development as the book moved on.
The ending, after everything that happened, was not what I was expected, and it’s the reason I didn’t give this book four stars. It was a shock but it just felt really out of place.
A great read!
Exciting in places, but I’m disappointed it let me down in others.
