Walking: One Step At a Time by Atli Gunnarsson, Erling Kagge
5.0
Beautiful. Erling Kagge strikes the perfect balance between poetry, anecdotes, and informative tone. I need a physical copy of this so I can underline every other sentence!
“All my walks have been different, but looking back I see one common denominator: inner silence. Walking and silence belong together. Silence is as abstract as walking is concrete.”
“Your feet are your best friends. They tell you who you are.”
“Walking made it possible for us to become who we are, so if we hardly ever walk, we may become something else.”
There is one more quote about walking and time near the beginning that really resonated with me but I was in the shower at the time and tried so hard to remember it. It was short, simple, and covers the whole book in a couple sentences.
