What I Know for Sure by Oprah Winfrey
5.0
Oprah narrating her own audiobook that details some of the things she knows for sure?!? SIGN ME UP. It all ended too soon, and that's my only complaint. Oprah's expertise at hosting, interviewing, and acting enabled her to dominate the narration. Plus, I think audiobooks based on personal stories always shine brighter when presented by those who lived the story.
As for the stories, What I Know for Sure offers a slew of insights that Oprah has gained over the years. We're always changing, and Oprah has long struck me as someone who embraces this, and doesn't just change, but she grows. Listening to the things that she knows may help you grow as well. Some of them focus on more trivial, but still vital truths, such as Oprah's appreciation of a perfectly ripe and juicy peach on a peaceful day. Oh how I loved listening to how she talks about food; it echoes my own feelings.
Many of the things that Oprah knows resonate with me. During tough days, it can be hard to remember to stay grounded, to find the joy in all that's around you, to understand that we're all just people trying to make our way. Listening this book (and others like it) helps reinforce the things that I also know for sure, and helps keep me on the path to becoming my best self. Thanks, Oprah!
