The Molecule of More: How a Single Chemical in Your Brain Drives Love, Sex, and Creativity--And Will Determine the Fate of the Human Race by Daniel Z. Lieberman, Michael E. Long

5.0

This is exactly the book on dopamine I was looking for and was disappointed not to find in "Dopamine Nation" by Anna Lembke.
I very much enjoyed the descriptions of how the different neurotransmitters, first and foremost dopamine, work and interact in the brain. It is striking how this molecule, insignificantly present among neurons, can have such a remarkable effect on not only mood, motivation and well-being but especially actual behavior.
I can highly recommend this book to anyone interested in psychology, neuroscience or human behavior in general.
