Happy Place by Emily Henry

emily henry you'll be hearing from my lawyer soon because i'm going to sue you for emotional distress

i literally do not have the words for the way this book tore me apart and put me back together again. this book makes me feel like a whole person again, like rediscovering what it means to be a person who loves other people.

"Want is a kind of thief. It's a door in your heart, and once you know it's there, you'll spend your life longing for whatever's behind it."

this book is my door. it's growth, it's change, it's personal failings, it's love. this book made me think growing up might not be so bad.

julia whelan, don't think i have forgotten about you. this audiobook is fucking fantastic. whelan's voice makes the entire thing come alive, and all the character voices are excellent. these are real people, real characters, and julia whelan continues to reign as my favourite audiobook narrator of all time
