This book was definitely a highlight read of this year. I’m going to keep this review short and spoiler free as I really wish those who read it are in for a complete surprise as I was. The experience of reading this phenomenal book is out of this world.

Chiamaka and Devon, two black teenagers who go to an elite private school. Both lead different lifestyles and have absolutely nothing in common. Right? So how come this Aces person is able to find out the deepest, darkest secrets of both of them and start making their life hell?

I really enjoyed this dynamic duo and truly felt what they were. The novel is written beautifully and deals with some of the most difficult topics head on. There is a lot to learn and uncover in this one book. I wasn’t a huge fan of the MC’s from the get go, but they do truly grow on you. I absolutely loved the dynamics between some of the other characters.

This is an amazing read and I’ll forever recommend it to anyone looking for a grip-me-until-the-last-page thrill and a story like no other!

My favorite quote:

« But I know dreams are dangerous; they give me too much false hope. »

Special mention:

« I stop myself from apologizing - because what would I even be sorry for? Existing too loud?»
