A Dance Macabre by Naomi Loud
5.0
This book was SO FREAKING GOOD!!! By the 65% mark, I was already sure that it would not only be a 5-star read for me, but that it would become a favorite for the year 😩 From what I gather, the inclusion of gothic and paranormal elements was something new for this author, and personally, I think they did such a wonderful job balancing those creepy, sinister elements with a fun, almost rom-com style romance.
Our mc’s, Mercy and Wolfgang, were sexy and villainous and 50-shades of morally black lmfao. Their chemistry was scorching. The back and forth banter, the visceral hatred they struggled with, my lord. I was panting like a dog over them. While their relationship certainly started as a physical attraction (like for real these two couldn’t keep their hands off each other), the emotional connection that they developed was lovely. Both are such strong personalities, born to rule and be feared, and seeing them come to a compromise rather than risk loosing the other had my heart melting 🥰
I can’t wait to read more from this author!
