The Women of Pearl Island by Polly Crosby

4.0

Very good, historical fiction. The culture and history of these women who dive for food in the coral reef is fascinating. It is set on an island in Korea that is occupied by Japan. Many of the plot points around this and the later American occupation are devastatingly sad. I did appreciate the ending and the way the underlying story was wrapped up on a hopeful and forgiving note. Great book club read.
