Ghost Dogs: On Killers and Kin by Andre Dubus, 3rd

emotional medium-paced

5.0

A collection of personal essays rather than a traditional memoir, Ghost Dogs is ultimately a reflection of masculinity. Well written, as you expect from Dubus. While at times you can't help but dislike the "character" I ended each essay thinking about manhood in the US today, and the legacy of violence that shaped so many of the men in my life. I appreciate the honest vulnerability the writer shows in taking on the themes of his life, and the themes of our culture.
