Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli
5.0
THIS WAS AMAZING
okay so first things first, DO NOT go into this book if you haven't read Simon vs the Homosapiens Agenda. Why ? Because you WILL be spoiled on most of the plot, it also is considered a second book in the series, that follows Leah's perspective.
This book was just EVERYTHING and more than what I had hoped for. I ended up listening to it on Audible, since I didn't have the time to physically pick it up. The narrator is amazing and truly felt like Leah in my opinion.
Leah was such a relatable character, she had struggles and at times I wanted to hit her on the head and tell her to do something about it and other times I wanted to hug her. She felt like a friend I was getting to know more rather than someone I was reading about.
The biggest thing that made me give this book 5 stars was the realistic Bisexual representation, as a Bi person myself it really felt like it was just a part of her rather than the whole plot of the book. It dealt with day to day bi-erasure and how to come to terms with yourself while accepting that even if there's no real reason to be scared to come out, it doesn't make your fears less valid.
The romance was sooo nice, it felt really good, made me laugh out loud and ship them like no other.
The best part about this book was the ending it really answered questions you asked yourself throughout the book and wrapped things up really nicely.
Overall amazing book and great bonus, of Simon and Blue's love life and romantic developpements !
100% recommend can't wait to re-read it !!!
