Lansky can be a bit self-aggrandizing, but the work done by the Yiddish Book Center is really amazing. This book is full of charming anecdotes about old Jews and stories that made me cry to think about our culture and our history. Not a hard read, worth checking out. Extremely made me want to learn Yiddish, of course.
