Marry Lies by Amanda Richardson
medium-paced
4.0
This book was really fun. It’s a modern day “fake marriage” billionaire romance with Beauty and the Beast vibes. I loved both of the main characters - Miles and Estelle. Miles is a closed-off grump and Estelle is a sunshine girl, but with some great self respect. The humor and banter between the characters in this book were top notch!
“You have … interesting taste,” is all he says.
“Thank you. I like it,” I tell him, though I know he meant it as an insult. I lean against the door frame as Miles walks around the bathroom once. “Besides, marriage is about compromise.” I mock.
“You call that pumpkin-colored bed a compromise?” he growls.
If you have a voyeurism kink, you might also really love this book! I also now need a goat named Lucifer.
“Why did you name him Lucifer?”
“His eyes turn red when it’s dark.” She stops walking and stares at me with horror. I can’t help but laugh. “Fuck, you’re gullible.”
I wish that we had spent some more time on Estelle’s upcoming clothing line and seen a little bit more of her in her business, but it didn’t deter me from enjoying the hell out of this story.
